OH MY STRIPE

July 5, 2018

Stripes will forever hold a place in my heart and my wardrobe. From pants to tops and even jackets you can almost always find the most fabulous pieces. But be warned when stripe shopping you really have to find the correct direction of the strip to suit your figure almost always a downward stripe will make you appear slimmer where a horizontal can make you appear wider it really all depends but you have to take it all into account when finding the correct and most fabulous stripe for you.

I feel like I really accomplished that with this little number! I mean how gorgeous is this blue and white crop with its stunning balloon sleeves, sexy tying at the back and little flash of skin at the waist it is just so wonderful in its entirety. I styled my lovely top with dark high waisted denim shorts and tied a stripe tie at the waist. For my accessories I went in a silver direction not usually done by me but sometimes I like to change it up with super cute silver angel wing sandals a beautiful blue and silver tasseled bag that went so perfectly with the shape of the sleeves and finally a pair of little carousel earrings to top it all off. As you can see the direction of the stripes is vertical but also follows the lines of the shirt at the back as well as having a straight across line at the waist for an added contrast. Just remember stripes are a fabulous pattern to add to your wardrobe in multiple facets but making sure your finding the right direction to suit your figure is imperative.

*my main tip is to go for a vertical pin stripe (thin lines) as they will no doubt always work rather than a bold/thick stripe.
