THE CLASSIC TRENCH COAT
So here is a little history, the trench coat has been around for over a century! Originally designed by Burberry and Aquascutum, it was mainly used in ww1 by soldiers in the trenches, hence the name! Now it is a fashion staple, a classic for winter and a huge 2017 fall/winter trend! Of course you have your classic khaki trench worn by the super spy's of the world, but now they come in all different shapes and colors, while still maintaining the classic designs.
Just like mine, a gorgeous white trench that stops above the knee but still has all the classic feels to it, with it's belted waist, large lapeled collar and back flap! Now what is truly fabulous about these coats it that they can be styled and worn in a multitude of ways over almost any outfit. As a classic buttoned up coat, open as a cardigan belted at the waist or from behind (to highlight your figure) or as I have done especially with the shorter trenches and worn in done up as a dress! I did however wear shorts and a silk camisole underneath in case I got hot and ended up wearing it just as an open coat. Topping off my wonderful coat-dress with stunning leather and canvas espadrille platforms, a gorgeous beaded cream clutch with touches of black and red for that little pop of color and a quirky gold puzzle piece necklace. I personally don't know a more versatile coat, it is without a doubt a classic and very chic piece. I really recommend investing in one, it is best keeping it in the neutral color range where it can be styled with anything - and for me a khaki classic is on the books!
