Since it's heating up on the northern side of planet earth, it is time to break out the shorts ladies, or is it just time for me to whip them out of my wardrobe? Of course we all have those denim shorts we wear allllll the time during summer, but I felt like doing something different and I did with a fabulous pair of tweed shorts.
I absolutely love these high waisted cotton tweed shorts that I 'whipped' out of my closet. They have a 60's throwback feel to them with the high waist and slightly 'A' line cut. They are perfect for any everyday outfit as well as being able to dress them up for a fun night out or a daytime event as they can easily go either way both chic and edgy or elegant and classic! Me being me I of course went with the edgier look, styling my lovely shorts with a super cool graphic t-shirt that I then tied at the waist - to highlight my figure and make the look slightly sexier with a flash of skin. I decided to play off the red 'mademoiselle' of the shirt for topping off my look (I love to accessories the colors I have on my outfit) adding a stunning pair of woven red raffia platform shoes , a piece of red & white fabric that I tied around my wrist as a bracelet (I do this a lot instead of a 'actual' bracelet), I then finished topping it off with a gorgeous black bag and of course bringing my quirkiness in with a gold spoon necklace and a 3 piece ring set that creates an old mans face moustache and all! Coming back to the high waisted shorts, they are a seriously great piece to have in your summer wardrobe - you don't have to go for a pattern like I did, that was just changing it up a bit continuing on they a chic, classic and can go from day to night by way of a top and shoes...isn't that fabulous ?!
